Any worth visiting? I'm thinking something along the line of Pittsburgh's Acoustic Music Works. Also, best place to catch some blues? Will be there with wife & kid in tow, so probably need to avoid the "real" blues joints ;)

Can't help you on the guitar stores, but let us know where you went when you get back. ;)

Blues joints, If you don't want to try to get into Buddy Guy's Legends or House of Blues might want to look into these.

The Blues festival is going on in a couple weeks and there are links to clubs on this site.

Makin Music, owned and run by Greg Bales. A great wine store that every bottle has a cork!

Contact dobro and find out where he's playing. I just missed him when I was there, but even if you aren't there when he's playing, he can give you some ideas of other good places.

Thanks for the links & suggestions. Dang, I'm gonna miss the blues festival, won't be there until mid-Aug. I knew about Legends, and the link gives info on a whole bunch of others. Thanks again.

One of these days I'm gonna do the whole "blues tour" - start in the Delta and work my up through Memphis and end up in Chicago. Something I shoulda done in my youth, but now something to look forward to.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Youth probably would have been the time as its looking like doing it during retirement is good to be impossible.
Been looking at "Blues Cruises" might be more do-able if you can get on the waiting list.
Shows every night, being able to mingle and socialize with the players, take your guitars.
Ok, wake up I must be dreaming.........

VERY cool! Thanks for the link. Would be a reasonable drive down for me, also something SWMBO could enjoy.

You could do worse than visiting the Chicago Music Exchange
