Location: South of most, North of few | Just got the parlor from War Eagle. Arrived in same condition he shipped it, which was to my surprise given the "accidents" lately with shipping companies. Question: I think this belonged to Moody or Woody at one time. It's a parlor, like the 97, but a burst, with an OP24E preamp and non slot head headstock. Label says 5741-9... Does anyone know how many of these got out of the factory, or was this a special order? |

I could be wrong but I believe a number of these were made with left over bowls and tops from the 97 Collectors run. How does it sound? Pictures also!!!
BTW: Yes I am at work. Getting paid for posting. Gotta love it. :D |

Location: South of most, North of few | Sorry, I had to "Cannonize" it (as my wife calls it). Pulled the tuners, teak oiled the neck and headstock, cleaned and waxed the top, cleaned and oiled the fret board, and a new set of Elixir custom lights with a tweak of the truss rod. I'll get some pics up later. A real beauty though, and it sounds really nice, like a 97 should. |

It's the only other body style Ovation has made as far as width dimensions. The Ovation parlors were mostly confined to the 97 collectors series which was a small body, 12 fret slothead, but I guess a few of the smaller bowls were left over and made into guitars like this one which is a 14 fret solid peghead. Very big sound for such a small guitar. Arguably, the best sounding small guitar out there in my opinion. |

Fer the Record - the 97s were the first to use that TRC shape, now standard on the LX series. That one was made using the extra bowls from the Parlors and was a sweet guitar when I got it.

Location: South of most, North of few | Don't have one anymore to A B them, but as I remember the 97, there isn't any discernible difference in the sound to me. Maybe I can get around to Iffy's and check it out against my old 97. |
