I've been looking to get a lefty US made Ovation, as my cheaper new model import has served it's purpose well but it's time to upgrade, but finding left-handed is a rarity. I found a L717 online for a good price, but as I'm researching it something doesn't add up (but it's probably me). The listing has a 6 digit serial # (4193XX), which shows by the chart to be made in 1990, but the price guide here only shows the L717 Legend being made in 1997-98. What am I missing here?

I've seen lots of info in those price guides that don't seem to add up to what I know to be fact. Ovation has offered left-handed versions of selected models (particularly the non-cutaway models) at least since the early 70s, and maybe even farther back than that. I've personally owned two different LH Legends; one was a '73 and the other a '79. I've also seen several lefty Legends on Ebay over the years from the 80s and 90s, so obviously that price guide is wrong. Good luck.

Thanks for answering, here and at my other question. I knew it would take another lefty to get an actual intelligent answer. As you see on my other post, the other "answers" are people chatting to each other about something completely off the topic of my question, and then they give sarcastic answers (if they answered at all). I appreciate the time you took to answer. You know what it's like being lefty in a rightie world. Oh, and as to the "how much would you pay" post, I noticed your advice about the bracing and got the L717. I paid $350 and it looks brand new. And if you ever want to sell any of those you have, send me an email. Thanks again.
