Location: Florida Central Gulf Coast | My ol' venerated and faded 'Stars and Stripes' was replaced yesterday on the flag poll out front.
Then today I received one that will NEVER be replaced!
I still have geese bumps. This puppy is beyond my greatest expectations. What a fantastic job the
MS did on the graphic! Oh heart be still (whoops, at my age that's not funny)... Seriously, this is AWESOME.
Patty said, "Oh, that's absolutely gorgeous... It's you... How much was it?" "Ya don't want to know... I've got three other gits for sale...". "OK, I gotta take a pic of you with it"...
To bvince, Bryan, yes it's a mid bowl, 4 7/8" depth at the bridge end of the sound hole. Yepper, like you, I'm a deep bowl kinda guy, but c'on... :p
AJ, I'd also love to see one with your Southern Cross constellation done as well as this 'un!
Presently, I can't accomplish any more pictorial justice than those that you can find on the web. But I'm hoping I can capture what it means to me later...
A truly sincere 'thanx' to those that rooted for me during and after my endeavor to find this meaningful 'symbol' and your appreciation of the reason! |

Not sure what strings you have on there but I didn't much like the sound of my 1621 artist bowl with mediums on it. Once I switched to Martin plain steel/bronze .012 to .054 at $5.00 a set I realized that the guitar had it's own sound range which worked really well and I wouldn't part with it now for that reason. Bracing and such might be different on mine but basically what I'm saying is find the sweet spot for the sound and work with it.
As I said in an earlier post, they really got that one right - best flag motif I've ever seen on a guitar. That one looks pretty near mint condition too and congrats on getting a guitar that you really wanted to have. |

Vic, this is the only 1779 'flag' I have.
BTW, it's #41 of supposedly 75 with a plush case that has 'Ovation' on the inside of the lid. |

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | Nice grab there Iffy! I AM a bit envious. I agree with Dave though that the big white label distracts the eye on this one. I'd personally just move it down a bit so it's not seen. I was also "closely" watching that other Flag CL a minute ago, and had already "prep'd" the wife on the possible purchase, but it went higher than I was prepared to go on it. I would have loved to play it in a July 4th concert.
Enjoy! |
