Location: Upper Left USA | We survived marrying off a Daughter this weekend and we are watching my Grandson this week, so I have escaped from work. I posted a couple of kayaks on the local CL and ended up taking a trip to Kirkland to deliver 2 boats.
I met a new friend and we started to talk about hobbies/Projects/Guitars and I was glad to hear that someone besides us knew that Ovations made solidbodies and that a Breadwinner is more than a Waged Employee!
When I mentioned I liked to play with woods he talked me into buying a slab of Black Walnut from a tree cleared in 2000.
Gave him an invite to the OFC thanked him for the tasty piece of lumber!
I'll have to stare at it for a while and see what it needs to become. Most likely end up with an Ovation Neck... |

I have been rejoicing in the fact that I made my last college tuition payment, then your post and SWMBO reminded me that both daughters aren't married yet. I was thinking that I might finally have a guitar fund, but now I'm thinking I might have to sell off some guitars to pay for weddings. |

We had a nice church wedding and served mixed nuts and soda pop at the reception. If anyone complained I didn't hear it (cause we were heading out to begin our new life). Musta worked cause 34 years later we are still together.
On the other hand....my wife's sister has had 3 lavish and expensive weddings........ |

Location: Upper Left USA | I fully support the simple Family gathering, lots of food, meet the outlaws/inlaws/Gene Pool and send the kids off on a good start.
I can tell you, the second weddings are much easier...

Location: Boise, Idaho | Someone needs to pay for a study to see if there's a statistical relationship between the cost of the wedding and the length of the marriage. I'll bet that it's inversely proportional--cheaper=longer.
The problem is that we fathers of daughters, the proponents of cheap weddings, don't have the cash or incentive to fund the study. The lavish wedding people have probably already paid for the study and didn't like the results, so they buried them. |
