The Elite 12's is the 12 I have played since 1988...I took a white one to Russia in 1994...I can still see the faces of the guards in customs...they asked me to play it for them and I did...awesome guitars...
The Adamas 12 is simply incredible...what a sound...my old -5 is currently in Switzerland and several of my former 1685 12's are enjoying good homes including a -5 at Beggin Jim's...
The Balladeer 12 has been "rode hard and put away wet"...but it sounds great and oozes mojo...one of the first...
The CL 12 is just drop dead gorgous...and it's near mint...sounds as good as it looks...
I like them all...hard to choose a favorite... |

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | Wow, good question...
I think it would have to be the Adamas I Paulie...being an owner yourself, you know why...they are simply unlike any other 12 string ever made...as good as it gets in my opinion...
Since I have never played a U681-12 like Dave has, that is what I have to go on...that said, there is a lot to be said for the other 12 fret 12's like the 1615 and the 1158...but for me, the Adamas floats my boat...
I am so glad I can have more than one...there are so many variables... |

I'm pretty curious about these models, because it seems they're pretty different from teh balladeer/legend/custom legend breed, being a 12 strings fan I'm considering purchasing one, how different are from the "solid headstock" models? |

The PM has a Sitka spruce top and 8 pearl fret inlays. The GC is spruce with 14 pearl fret inlays. Both have the Ovation fan bracing.
All I know is my PM outperforms any GC 12er I've had. I've said it before and probably will again, it's a BOOMER! Ask Music Mike for his thoughts on the PM. |

I can tell you this about a Pacemaker 12: I played one 6-7 nights per week for nearly 12 years of gigs...it never, ever let me down and always sounded great! Ovation 12 fret 12 strings are incredible... |

This one, the last of her honourable breed:

For the 12-12s (12 frets, 12 strings) I'm considering purchasing one, possibly a sunburst GC, but a pacemaker would also be good, the original Custom Legend is pretty difficult to procure... |

She was a nice guitar, Mishka, since you're a 12 string expert, what do you think about more recent models like mine?Is anything lost in the 6756 and 6759?
I'm a little surprised, for instance, that Ovation sold so many Pacemakers and GCs in the 70s while the popularity of the Legends and Balladeers faded away through the years... |
