What: Cross-Hemisphere OFC Gathering
When: Begins Friday evening 17 July through Saturday 18 July (and into the 19th, who knows)
Where: Casa G8r (Gainesville, FL) PM me for addy
Who: Guest of Honor - Miguel, on his return from Northern US travels, and any and all OFCers
Why: You have to ask?
Alright all you Southern Boys, let's do this & show Miguel how we party! Any newer members in and around FL who haven't attended an OFC event, you're more than welcome (and encouraged) to attend. Guaranteed great time.
You road warriors who are in FL sometimes (you know who you are) - try to make it to this one! |

| Nothing's set in stone, Bob. I defer to the more creative minds like Jas to come up with the great names/logos. Technically, it would be G8r Bowl III (or more properly in this case, Três). |

If you want to name a party of samba, then you should call it "pagode".
But, if I may humbly suggest, this should be called G8r Bowl III - Serenata Sulina.
C ya folks! |

Sounds like a lot of fun, but I can't make to the Cross-Hemisphere OFC Gathering.
I've got a "club date" on the 17th and my wife and I are going to a "Fab Faux" concert in Ft. Lauderdale on the 18th.

For all those who might be interested, The Fab Faux is the best Beatle tribute band.
Comprised of bassist Will Lee, from the Paul Shaffer band on David Letterman Show, guitarist Jimmy Vivino of the Max Weinberg band on the Conan O'Brian Tonight Show, and New York musicians Rich Pagano, Frank Agnello and Jack Petruzzelli. They rarely get out of the New York area. http://www.thefabfaux.com/ |

| Thanks, Jas. I imagine Miguel is busy gearing up for his impending departure. One week from today he'll be here for the day on his way north. I'm looking forward to it. Too bad he won't get here on a Monday, we could have done an open mic together at the local jam night venue. |

I´ve been busy this weekend with something that happened here at work, and SWMBO was in a bad mood because I left home for work on Fri and returned in the wee hours of Monday morning. Yesterday I finally went shopping for the trip.
I will pack only on Friday, it seems. |

Location: Alagoas, Brazil | Ok, folks, these were really special vacations.
I met G8r and Mr Big, got a new Ovation, went to Nashville, met PEZ in New York, talked to Kaki, came back to Gatorsville for the meeting, met Oh Capitain, My Capitain Lovehandles and Mr. Aerospace Oranjejuice Iffy, tasted Mrs. G8r Divine Indian Cousine, played with the very handsome Mr. G8r Jr., got a real special t-shirt, went to a Real American Wedding, took LOTS OF PICTURES and got a long nice story to tell.
To put it in simple words: it's been 4000 miles of pure fun and friendship.
Well, I am leaving tomorrow morning, and I'm already looking forward to come again for more.
Thanks to all of you folks, who made this time really special!
Best regards,
Miguel |

I am now more at home at Casa de G8r than about anywhere. Who was the first one downstairs with li'l g8r to take him outside to whiz? I don't think they've told the kid they have indoor plumbing.
Two words... shrimp'n grits!
The biggest advantage of having a small crowd: You've never seen Iffy play so much guitar.
And anybody who makes the blanket statement that koa doesn't sound great has not played Iffy's 06C. Mrs G8r has pretty much put her foot down about any more guitars, but even she was lusting after that beauty.
Thanks again for a great time.
