Location: South of most, North of few | I picked up this Alvarez 12 string on Craigslist local and was so impressed with the sound that I found a 6 string new on line to match it. Englemann spruce top, maple back and sides, jumbo body. Nice sound and very playable. :D

Location: SoCal | Alvarez has always made a great guitar for the buck. Doesn't surprise me that you found a good one. There are a lot of them out there..... |

AJ The 12 was made in Korea, and the 6 was made in China. Nice workmanship non the less. I never really liked a maple guitar till I tried the 12. Nice deep sound from the big body, yet bright from the maple. |

Alvarez makes some nice guitars. Never tried a 12 string. |

I think maple bodies and 12's are just a nice match. |

Location: South of most, North of few | Stephen, that's funny you should mention a Guild. That's exactly what this 12 reminded me of when I picked it up. Very similar sound. |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | I love natural quitled maple backs and have a couple of nice models myself, including a USA Starfire IV. Its unfortunate that these beautiful finishes remain out of view most of the time. |
