Location: Utica, NY | I remain a bit lost when it comes to simple home recording using a PC so I'd like to collect some information and opinions of what I would need to get started, hardware and software, for home audio recording and possible minor dubbing/mixing/editing. I need to make some promo demos for our agency so I will need to interface our analog mix into the PC. I know that there is a member selling the Mbox 2 Mini digital recorder interface with ProTools. Is this something worthy of consideration? I would really prefer something as plug-and-play simple as possible. I took a crack at Cakewalk's Guitar studio a while back on WIN98 but couldn't even figure out how to get a guitar sound into it let alone use the multitude of other features. I understand the recording/mixing process but not at the digital level yet. It all still frustrates me and leaves me feeling pretty stupid. But, it's the I am hoping that there is something newer that will suit my needs. You're input is appreciated.
Also, as a bonus question, does anyone have any experience with the Ensoniq SD-1 keyboard/sequencer? I also would like to convert all of my sequences from it's propriety format to general MIDI but that's even further out there in my realm of understanding. I'm a real Midiot.
Thanks |

Thanks very much. It looks like what I might be after. I really like the assortment of inputs and outputs. |
