Given numerous gripes that the Ovation website is full of faults and inaccuracies, or just plain out of date, I thought I'd start a topic where we can list all these in one place. Then, if they can be bothered, the lovely people at Ovation can fix all these problems, because they'll have one easy list. I'll start:

1) The listed picture of an Adamas 1680 shows an acoustic only version, despite the fact that it was only sold as an acoustic-electric (presumably other than the one which was the subject of the said photo).

Its hard to tell from that picture if it doesn't have a preamp fitted. I think it's correct just a bad picture.

2) The 1157 (under history->archive) pictures an electric Anniversary.

3) The 1657 (under history->archive)states "pickup: piezoelectric stereo". It's should be "pickup: piezoelectric".

4) At some point in the 70s Ivory became illegal yet many/most/all descriptions (under history->archive) state "Ivory Binding".

1) Re the 1680 photo. First, you can see a VIP volume button from that angle, secondly the saddle is a thin line in the photo.

I thought it would be nice if they fixed the inaccuracies which would help people who don't find their way here or aren't as fanatical about finding out as some of us.

In this context Ivory is a color, not a material. If the binding was orange color, they would state "Orange Binding". Does not mean the binding is made out of oranges.

Regarding pointing out all the faults in the site, y'all do what you want but I think this is little more than message board masterbation. Sure I would like to see 100% accuracy but the truth is (my opinion) they aren't going to change anything that doesn't have a direct impact on selling more new guitars.

I mean, who in the head office is going to give one crap that the 1157 pictured has a preamp? I for one would far rather see Ovation spend their time and money towards improving quality control, developing new USA models, invest in artist relations, and improve their marketing and product placement.

...

I agree with that statement. I WOULD however like it if they would put a contact phone number on the site with Kim and John's personal cell phone numbers (: but that's not a realistic request either.

They might... if they could find a way to block Moody from seeing it.
