Location: in the land of enchantment | Hello all, here's what was said about her when it was bought sometime mid-90's. That this is one of twelve made for Melissa Etheridge...she picked a couple for her tour, and the others went on the market. I looked on the Model/Serial # page here, and there are ???? after the NB2. So, everyone, what do you think? Could it be, or could it not be? I look forward to getting the hive's input. Sorry for the poor pic quality, will take better ones soonish.

Location: in the land of enchantment | Thx. Gallerinski..But then the question is..why don't other 1885's have this NB2 in their model #'s, and they are "non burst red"? Puzzling. |

At the time that they made BOTH burst and non-burst versions, the non-burst ones got labeled -NB2, -NB5 and -NB8. In the years that ONLY non-burst versions were made they just labelled them -2, -5, -8. |

Location: in the land of enchantment | Again, Thx. Gallerinski! Okey dokey, things are becoming a bit clearer. Now what does the 2 or 5 or 8 stand for? Here's the color list from the serial/model # page...
Stay cool down there, in Phx....I spent a few of my younger years in Tempe, and was just in Mesa in Feb..and things were heating up.

Location: in the land of enchantment | Great! Thx. 2ifbyC. So I have an Adamas II 1885, from 1993, that was made in a year where they had burst and non-burst models, hence the NB, and it is red, indicated by the 2. I think a decoder ring should be invented, that comes in every Ovation/Adamas box...along with some tasty cereal.
Thanks again, all who've helped me understand this. |
