Location: Texas | Often I'll drink a beer or two at dinner, right before my band mates come over for practice two nights a week and when they arrive we have a nice session and a few more beers while we rehearse new and old tunes. I have a jazz trio and we play instrumental music.
I practice in the mornings by myself and encourage my musicians to work everyday on their parts so when we get together we are all ready for the band practice.
I think that having a few beers or a bottle of wine is a great way to relax and work on tunes and we can still have a decent practice and be productive and have a good time at the same time.
So, I like Ovations and beer...................... :rolleyes:
Anybody else?

Location: Vernon CT | Nothing wrong with a beer or 2. Just came out of a situation though, where my Other 2 bandmates drank a little more then the should have, got "silly" and for 8 week very little got acomplished. So it depends on how well you hold it and how "responsible" you are. |

A little is good. Too much is much worse.
I blame that one extra dose of liquid courage for my mini-train wreck at my first Amelia thing.
I stayed up there for just one song too long. And I know I knew better. |

MM My hands are much better at guiding the beer to my mouth than guiding the guitar. Beer doesn't help my playing, but has helped my gut fit the contour bowl. |

Michelle How true that is, it has been in my signature line for some time now. I picked it up from a freind of mine who did solo piano gigs back in the early 80's. Wow that was a long time ago. |

The piano players kept drinking all throughout the night. They were pretty sloshed when I left (and I left pretty early). And boy did they get LOUD!
