So... I'm painting the living room & I need to move some bookcases. While emptying them out I came across a stack of cassette tapes. Some labled, some not. One of them was a recording of my wedding which will be 30 years ago this Monday.
And the other is marked... "Brad & Ted". Sure enough, these are recordings my friend Ted & I did back when we were about 17 years old. They were originally recorded on 8 track. I thought these were long gone.

And... I found an old 35mm camera. A Pentax IQ zoom 900 no less. It has exposed film in it from at least 20 years ago. I have it in for processing so I'll see what they are in a couple days.
Get this... I turned it on and there was still enough juice in the battery to snap & flash a few pictures and re-wind the film.

We just finished painting the whole house and all I found was aggravation. I found a huge blister after staining the cabin. I was looking for my library a cassette tapes a few years ago, which I had spent hundreds of dollars on, and found out my wife had sold them all for $5 in a garage sale. She said we didn't have a tape player, even though there is one above the receiver that she uses every day.
How come I don't find anything fun?

maybe there just isn't any evidence to be found that I had any fun
I suppose it would be more accurate to say that I just don't have any "hidden treasures" to be found. Any treasures I ever had are pretty much out in the open.

Brad, that is awesome.

I have yet to finish the remodel of the downstairs but when I do I need to carefully remove the section of ply-board that has the height measurements and dates of the first family to live in this house. It'll make a nice present for them.

Little things can mean a lot.

I skimmed over a bit of that tape at Brian's last night. Kinda rough. Very rough. Kinda very rough. Maybe I can pull a snippit from somewhere that I'm willing to post.

Woody... Preserving a piece of history for that family is a very cool thing to do.
Maybe you could frame it with some nice koa with just a touch of abalone. :)

Update... pics are not in yet and Pam & I are on vacation for week so I'll be out of touch.
No laptops or twitter pads for me!!

We're taking a "GPS" vacation. All we know is that we are heading south on I-75. We'll use the GPS as we go for motels, food, and attractions. We'll just let the road take us where it will until we have to turn around to be home by Saturday.

No guitar on this trip either. With no real plan I don't want to have to worry about it being locked up in a hot car.

Thanks Serge, That would be very, very cool but I don't think we'll make it down quite that far.
