Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | That's funny, Alan.
This is an exhibit of about a half dozen bronze sculptures permanently installed on extra large sloping steps on a grassy slope on the west side of downtown Prague just across the river. The sculptures are about eight feet tall and appear in various stages of completeness ranging from nearly nothing (half a leg, part of the torso) at the rear top step (hidden in the photo) to the complete man in the front (wearing the shirt). The display represents the artist's interpretation of man stepping out of the depression and incompleteness imposed by Communism and becoming "whole" or complete the farther he steps away.
Of course, my irreverence in staging the photo (strategically accomplished at midnight for obvious reasons) is somewhat disrespectful, but I couldn't pass it up and I had my stupid tourist excuse well-rehearsed in case of need. |
