Location: Latitude 39.56819, Longitude -105.080066 | Lia (SWMBO) just returned Saturday night from visiting her Mom in Texas. They are best friends and spend 3-4 hours on the phone every Weds talking and laughing.
Today when she did not show up for church, Lia's brother called but could not reach her on the phone. He asked her neighbor to check on her. They found her on the bed barely breathing. She was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support but the prognosis is poor. They don't know how long she was in this condition but apparently it was for quite some time.
I tried to get Lia back on a plane to Houston tonight but by the time we heard the news (which was within an hour of her Mom being found around 6pm Denver time) there were no flights available.
I have Lia on a 6am flight out on Monday morning.
We just received a call from her younger sister letting us know that it looks like the end is very near. Lia is devastated.
The purpose of telling everyone this is because while I am not as religious as Lia and her family, I do strongly believe in God and the power of prayer.
I hope that many of our members can offer up a few prayers tonight in hopes that Lia's mom can hang on until Lia gets there tomorrow morning. It would take a tremendous burden off of Lia to be able to hold her Mom and say goodbye. She feels terribly guilty that she left even though her Mom seemed fine.
Anyway, thoughts and prayers would be most appreciated in Lia's time of pain and mental anguish and maybe the power of prayer can buy a little bit of time.

Lia has been there since and is finally coming back home today. She handled it all very well but is afraid that once she gets back home the reality of it all will really hit her hard. At least I can try and give her the support and love she will need.
Thanks to everyone! I am sure that the prayers and thoughts ultimately made their way to Lia and helped her to find comfort during a difficult time. |

| Stephen, you and Lia have out deepest condolences. Even though she wasn't able to get there in time to say her last goodbye, she had by your accounts just spent a wonderful day with her mom. That counts for more than anything, and she should cherish that memory. I'm certain her mother was very proud of the extraordinary person her daughter is. |

She was found by a neighbor barely alive after suffering a stroke and passed a few days after. Please accept our sincere condolences for your loss. I pray that Lia and your family can find peace after the shock of the death of a loved one. |
