Location: Vernon CT | In my continued search to find "more" musicians in the area to play/Jam with I had an interesting "answer" to my most recent C.L. ad.
My ad states I am looking for musicians between mid 30's to mid/late 50's.
The E.M response I receive fron a "women" states:
"Bob sounds like a bit of an older name (dont hate my honesty hah) but do you mind if I ask your age/age range?" Geezzz!!!!! Now my name is old!
Anyway, I googled her, found her Myspace and besides haveing a great voice (Think Amy Lee from Evenescence) she's pretty cute to! Unfortunately she could be my daughter! :p
And life goes on............... :) |

The other day someone even older than me asked about what I liked to play. I responded with stuff from my college years. He said "like the Highwaymen" and some other group I never heard of. He must have thought I went to college in the 50s instead of the 70s. It's tough finding musicians that match. |

I’m approaching my late 50s, the drummer is mid-40s, the lead singer and director is early 40s, the bass player is early 30s, the keyboard player is early 20s, the alternate keyboard player is at least in his mid 70s, the horn player is late 40s, the flutist is still in her teens, and the other singers range from early 20s into their early 50s. No wonder our selections are all over the place. |

Mark, the Highwaymen was a group consisting of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristopherson from the 80's..... |

I thought it was more like 20. I'm not any older than the Eagles, or at least not much, and lots younger than the Beatles or the Stones. |

Most of my favorite musicians that play anything resembling metal are older than I. As for the local bands, I think they'd get more work if their music was heavier. Just check out the lists of songs on the various Rock Band-styled games. |

People name their kids after people that inspire them.
So you will notice a trend in names that come from Musicians, Actors (or actor's Characters), Authors, Novels, and Names from Songs that influence Stoned Parents.
And you can often match those names to certain time-periods, at least by the decade.
Hence, if you meet some poor kid named Adulus, Levon, or Frodo... Blame the parents.
I met a girl whose name on her Driver's License was Crispy Lee Critter.

| For the most part, I have no interest in playing what the younger people accept as music. Oh, I could play it. I could have played it when I was about six months into learning guitar. That's the problem.
Does that make me old? Well, I already know I'm old. Another clue isn't gonna hurt anything. |

I hope to outlive Willie as well!
Recently had my Niece and her band over (under 20). I learned a lot and got to hear my guitars played like they should be! Then we played some 20 year old Third Day songs!
Yes, I have issues older than them but we shared a lot and it was good music! |

You scroll a ways down.... then a little more.... then much more... and finally, there it is. Just a little further down than it was a year ago. |

Anita Thanks! I'll be 45 on August 27. The pictures on my ning site are good ones as they don't show my gray hairs!
I let my baby brother play my O today. He absolutely loved the guitar and told me that I got a great deal on it (thanks Patch)!

Four old men went into the pro shop after playing 18 holes of golf. The pro asked, "Did you guys have a good game today?"
The first old guy said, "Yes, I had three riders today."
The second old guy said, "I had the most riders ever. I had five."
The third old guy said, "I had seven riders, the same as last time."
The last old man said, "I beat my old record. I had 12 riders today."
After they went into the locker room, another golfer who had heard the old guys talking about their game went to the pro and said, "I have been playing golf for a long time and thought I knew all the terminology of the game, but what's a rider?"
The pro answered, "A rider is when you hit the ball far enough to get in the golf cart and ride to it." |

So I would use my new glasses to read with, and my old glasses to see with.
Then they gave me bifocals which really sux at any age, but I could see!
Last time got my eyes examined they wanted me to go for the trifocals...
