My 1667-5 had a preamp change operation this weekend. Though at first we were unsure of it's prognosis, however I must report that it has made a full recovery and is working even better than before.

Thanks to Dr. Woody. Next time please use anesthesia. The poor ol' gal was howlin like nothing I've ever heard when you took the Dremel to her.

Before (see, just a single concentric knobby)

After (big manly preamp, ready to satisfy)

I'll most likely make this one my main giggin axe.

looks great!
does the dremel blade at times get hot and burn thru on the cutting? if so, i bet that smells delicious. i installed a b-band A3T preamp in my stanford guitar last week. used my dremel for the preamp side hole and made a bit of charcoal in the process. burning rosewood doesn't smell too bad though.

The hole needs to be cut for it still. I just have a nut on the end of the jack. the xlr is hiding on the other side of the bowl.

I might just take it to Mike Lull here locally or something. I'm a guitarist, not a doctor... Damn it Jim!

We ran out of time at Woody's. Really we were sposed to eat, drink, and play. Somehow I managed to bring a preamp along, then next thing you know, Dr Woody was scrubbin up. :D
