Location: Chicago | We love the natural sound of Os and As. But what is your personal formula for PLUGGING IN? What was the BEST plugged in sound you ever achieved and how did you do it? |

Location: Jet City | Takamine TF360SBG with Cooltube preamp, Triaxe pickup into the Roland AC60 where it's EQed (with some light chorus on occasion), then left/right xlr outs to the board.
If the Tak is out of bounds, just insert the 2080 instead. I still like the Tak preamp and soundhole pickup better though. |

Location: Jet City | Actually, I remember some pretty cool tones with my UKII going through the Marshall JCM800 back in the 80s too. |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | I sway towards reverb and twang, and that means a solid body with single coils switched to the neck and played through a tube reverb unit into either an old Bandmaster or Bassman. However, according to the band and many others regularly in the audience, the best they've heard is (1) the Adamas wood-topped SSB proto played through a Zoom A2.1u with some reverb and other parameters I put together in a single preset about a year ago, then sent to the house PA through the Zoom XLR, and (2) the Tak EF-75 through the same system only with a primarily chorus-based preset. |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | Outboard reverb on an AC30 is an absolute must if you want decent reverb. The built-in tank is terrible. |

Location: Utah | The best is running the '07C through the Crate 60W acoustic amp. A touch of compression, maybe a tiny hint of reverb depending on the room. The 6778LX sounds pretty darned good through that amp, too.
When running through house PA systems it never sounds quite as good, but the sound guys usually do a real quick sound check. For the speed of the setup they do a great job, but it isn't as good as it might be if there were more time.
One venue made Katie's 1778LX sound just amazing. Full and lively. I asked the sound guy what he did but all he would admit to was adding reverb. The sound system in there is very nice but usually not that nice. |

Location: Chicago | I meant Ovations as well... My best result to date is my Adamas (with Fishman pickup) through a Bose L1. I have almost no reverb, no chorus. The recording was in an empty church... so that was "wet" enough.
I notice amazing variety in plugged in sound for the top pro axes (Custom Legends, Adamas etc.). |
