in 1883, krakatoa's eruption killed 36,000 people in indonesia. supposedly people in california heard the eruption.

Location: big island | thanks, iffy. that photo is already published today to mark the 126th anniversary of krakatoa's earth-shattering explosion. i read it also altered the temperature of the earth, lowering it a few degrees for 5 years afterwards. |

Location: Vernon CT | If this is indeed happening, it's a bit unnerving as I have recently seen a documentary on I beleive the history channel, about Krakatoa and it's effect on the entire world's climate.
