I bought a few guitars this month. Yes, so I did go a bit crazy this year, but phew, it has been fun! Here's three pics of one I closed on yesterday. I am expecting a few more special deliveries this week and next. I will post the photos soon. MM tells me I did well on this one ...

Nice. The combination of a black top with brown detailing has always been one of my favorites. That photo makes it look like a couple of different models. What model is this specifically?

Thanks, everyone! Arrgggh! It's too much, too much I tell ya ... and you guys 'did it' to me, lol. I grabbed it pretty fast! It's supposed to be a 1987 Adamas I 1681-5. SN# 4414. I think the seller was the original owner. Allison, this forum is NUTZ.

I couldn't really find a whole lot of info on it. Correction: MM says it's an Adamas II. I still can't find much on this one.

OK ... so the Ovation tribute page shows the following as an Adamas II 1681-5. Mine has different knobs, so ... Here's what is shown on the Ovation tribute site:

http://www.ovationtribute.com/Adamas%20Models/Adamas_II_1681-5_%233...

Mine has knob that looks more like this one, only in black:

http://www.ovationtribute.com/Adamas%20Models/Adamas_II_1681-9_2/Ad...

Still looking ...

When I was a kid, maybe 8yrs old, I got caught stealing candy for my Step brother who threatened to kick my A-- if I didn't. I swear I won't try to "borrow" an ADAMAS. Just fondle it a bit! ;)

Us gals, we helped too!! :D :D ;)
Until last week, there were nine O cases here; it doesn't take much help from much of anybody to stoke the fire. And to think, I started with one.
At least you live close enough that I can come and visit her--and all the others while I'm at it!! :)

There is a rather LARGE crack/split in the epaulets on the treble side ... how big of a problem is that, and how much to have it fixed? Any ideas? I started to call MM, but remembered he had meetings tonight. He's going to want that!

Paulie, look at this pic:

See the seperation of the treble epi in the middle of the large sound holes...definitly seperation of some sort...
Superglue might work (and clamped in place)

I see. And you're right, superglue would probably work. I've used it on the epi's on my 1537.

Willa, sorry to use language like "snot blob". It's not nice in front of a lady.

I called him. I told him the guitar looked a bit beat up.

He laughed and said the guitar was 'dragged around a bit' (paraphrasing there). I was just curious. I made him an offer and THEN saw the boo boo ... I'm going to pass; You guys could fix that. I couldn't. If I buy it, anyone wanna offer to foster and fix her for me?

Then I'd have twins ... sort of ...

Let me know if you ever want to sell the 1119-4
Um, OK, but don't hold your breath. ;)
That's "Paddy", and she would definitely be one of the last to go ...

If you get this guitar, you'll find that it's one feces-kicking instrument......

OK; so beat me up.

She is MINE.

Randy said that she will have 'good mojo' and I think he's right. The man is/was a professional musician for many years, but he said he had health problems due to the fact that he weighed something like 600 or 700 pounds and was waiting for heart surgery. Just as I was thinking to myself, "how can he HOLD the guitar, especially an Adamas", he said, "I can't really hold her anyway." I thanked him and wished him well.

MM said he'd have a look at her for me and even try to fix her, so he will be her foster daddy for a while. I will have the serial number soon. I hope he plays her for a few weeks and gives her some MORE 'good mojo'!

I think the seller said he bought it in 1984.

I need to open a store now. The kids think I've gone bonkers ... but for the first time in my life I'm doing "MY THING", although photography is my first love ...

I took delivery on some real beauties this week... photos coming ... don't hate me because they are beautiful, haha.

By the way, I got the 1861-5 today. She is in mint condition and I cannot believe the sound coming from this guitar!

Boy Randy, always ready to help out....

Yeah! It's his and Mishka's fault!

Anybody for dinner? We're having macaroni and cheese, 'cause I can't afford meat (or vegetables, for that matter) now.

Willa, not only are you "in the club", but you are fast becoming one of the most interesting members! Congrats on all the new ones, and Mike, have fun being foster dad and doctor. (By the way Willa, I'd be happy to foster any of them for you too. :D )

Willa, 2 hours southeast out of Philly puts you in some nice territory. Wish I had known before our vacation, we would have had you over for dinner or mini-golf.
