Joined: February 2003 Location: NJ | I received my new 2080 12 String yesterday and after a change of strings, a truss rod adjustment, removing the shims, and some fine tuning....I must say that I am very happy! It is every bit the 12 String my 1685 was, but different as well. The 1685 had more punch while the 2080-12 sounds more full and rich. Both guitars can be loud and dynamic mind you. Neither would replace the other, but either makes a superb 12 string (so get both!) I can with no reservation suggest the 2080 as a 12 string. I have not played the 2080 6 string, so I can't comment there. I really like the deep contour bowl...very comfortable. I have an OP Pro Studio on order to replace the VIP (so if anyone needs one...). I haven't even heard the VIP, but I am a "let the guitar sound like the guitar" guy...thus the change. I will add some pictures and add some media in a few days.
BTW- I put on my old favs Elixir Polyweb Light guage...any other strings sounding good on 12 string Adamas guitars?

Location: Newington, CT | Oh...YOU got that one! Good for you! I went through several keyboards drooling over that one!
I know you "recommend the 2080 12'er," but, if I'm not mistaken, you have the only one in existence, so it'll be a neat trick for someone else to obtain one. I could be wrong...
Congratulations again! I am busy committing one of the seven deadly sins: envy. |

Location: Newington, CT | ...and here's another funny...I just went back and reviewed the thread where you announced that you had obtained it. I had fogotten all about it; including the fact that I talked at some length about owning three of the 6-string 2080's. The beauty of senility...I get to have cool conversations over and over again, and they're always exciting and fresh! |
