I received my new 2080 12 String yesterday and after a change of strings, a truss rod adjustment, removing the shims, and some fine tuning....I must say that I am very happy! It is every bit the 12 String my 1685 was, but different as well. The 1685 had more punch while the 2080-12 sounds more full and rich. Both guitars can be loud and dynamic mind you. Neither would replace the other, but either makes a superb 12 string (so get both!) I can with no reservation suggest the 2080 as a 12 string. I have not played the 2080 6 string, so I can't comment there. I really like the deep contour bowl...very comfortable. I have an OP Pro Studio on order to replace the VIP (so if anyone needs one...). I haven't even heard the VIP, but I am a "let the guitar sound like the guitar" guy...thus the change. I will add some pictures and add some media in a few days.

BTW- I put on my old favs Elixir Polyweb Light guage...any other strings sounding good on 12 string Adamas guitars?

Tom

Oh...YOU got that one! Good for you! I went through several keyboards drooling over that one!

I know you "recommend the 2080 12'er," but, if I'm not mistaken, you have the only one in existence, so it'll be a neat trick for someone else to obtain one. I could be wrong...

Congratulations again! I am busy committing one of the seven deadly sins: envy.

Alan - one could always custom order one. Of course you could also wait for my financial disaster and pick this one up ;)

Also...I guess I could use 80/20 Bronze un-coated strings for more punch if I wanted that, but it's great as is.

Here's what I'll root for: that you somehow legitimately come into 10 million bucks, and feel that you can order up several more, and you end up feeling so generous that you give me that one...sound good?

...and here's another funny...I just went back and reviewed the thread where you announced that you had obtained it. I had fogotten all about it; including the fact that I talked at some length about owning three of the 6-string 2080's. The beauty of senility...I get to have cool conversations over and over again, and they're always exciting and fresh!

Soon enough, I'll be wishing another 10 million bucks into your bank account, and you'll have to give me another 12-string 2080!

I'm sorry...what were we talking about again?

Saaaaaay, whatever happened to that gorgeous 2080 12-string that was on e-Bay a while back? Anyone win that one?
