Spokesman: as you may know Ovation guitars were designed by an award winning Aviation Enginneer
(camera pulling back to see trebuche with guitar case)
Spokesman: We know about flying and guitars
(launch case in the direction of baggage hander who does not catch it.)
Enter paniced Musician who rush to and opens case
removes an undamaged guitar and strums it.
Fade out to Ovation logo followed by
the most road worthy guitar made!! |

In case I should be fine.
The Taylor basically crushed the rosewood body,
in lower bout.
Now that people are back to solid wood guitars the same problem with rosewood is still there.
It cracks easily. Its one of the reason Johnny Cash went through 300 Martin D-28's alone
(not including other Martin Fenders Guilds and Gibsons he owned over the years)
Early 1960s Fender Acoustics tried to address the problem with laminated bodies. It failed.
Ovation successed with fiberglass at the same time.
Most laminated bodys still sound ickie
Fiberglass is still tougher than rosewood, yet still sounds good. |

Glad to see UA getting slapped...in '97 the UA baggage handlers broke into my luggage at JFK and took $1200 in camera and computer Equipment...its a racket and everyone associated w/JFK knew it was happening - police included...My homeowners at least replaced the equip. but not the film in the camera...just deserts... |

See, we only fly to places that have airports. Anyplace that has an airport, well you can bet they have guitars there too. Use one of those when you get there, OK? Oh, I see, you're an artist! You gotta have YOUR PERSONAL guitar? Tell ya' what - how 'bout you crate it up real nice and freight it with FedEx. That's what they do. Leave us out of it. We already got Homeland Security, the FAA, the ATF and a buncha' other agencies crawlin' up our butts with rules and paperwork. Not to mention soccer moms and screamin' kids. So stop whinin' about your - instrument - OK? Or better yet, buy it a ticket and strap it in nice and snug next to you.

Maybe they saw the UA video, too.
