Location: Florida Central Gulf Coast | The postman delivered the Eclipse I got from renihanc. It definitely needs some 'tronics rewiring work plus some pup plastic ware. The body is in great shape and should clean up nicely.
Then mid-afternoon, FX delivered Andrew's (edenharvest) FD-14 #38. Now I remember why I fell in love with da FUD at SJI. What an awesome sounding guitar. It has a richness that reeks of full harmonics. Thanx Andrew for working with me on it!
Then before supper, up pulls the BBT. My heart was pounding as I dug through enough foam peanuts to raise the Titanic. At last I found the case and, while holding my breath, slowly lifted the lid. And there my 1689-7 lay in one piece with snot running out the lower epi. Ahhh yes, it arrived without any postal damage.
Initial observations:
-sloppy repair job on the lower bout binding, near neck
-fading/discoloration along bowl edges below binding
-one small ding on the head face
-little rubbing on bass ear
-access plate a bit warped
-I believe Beal was right about the lines mentioned in the other thread as being tape residue (play list?)
Fret wear minimal on the cowboy chords. The neck is in great condition. I'd love to clean it up, but hopefully it'll be on the way to the Mojo Palace in a couple of days. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Probably better for you. You only get in trouble for one day. I got in trouble on the day I bought them (one at a store) and then again when the other one was delivered. As indicated in the other thread, though, she's not really as scary as I make her sound. |
