Location: SoCal | Bobbo,GC 12's first (only for a short while) had open tuners (I don't know what kind, probably Klusons) and then went to the Klusons which lasted until the maybe '76, at which time they started using the Schallers (was that what they were?). The Klusons were 6 on a strip and the Schallers were 6 individual tuners per side. |

| I guarantee THAT guitar will be the Loudest 12, that you will ever own... that doesn't have a Carbon top.. the purple lined cases are pretty cool too.... my old Balladeer had one... I really miss the old girl.. :(
and while I know where she's singing right now, and could get her back if I wanted, just no way I can do it.. so I'm down to the 69 shiny 12(which I'd love to do an A-B comparison with that GC12) which someone here I am sure is going to get...
and I just ordered a Brand New 2771-4LX-CB from Al, and all of the rest of the funds from my current offers are going to Mom.
been an awful long time since I only had 2 guitars.. which was when I joined this group, and found out that GAS was an addictive personality trait and chosen lifestyle.

You're probably right. Don't bid against "The Ol' Trader". He'll post here and you don't have to worry about getting sniped at the last minute.
I lost out on one a couple of weeks ago by $10 which was the next minimum bid. Bowed out of another when the bidding got fast and furious in the last couple of hours. I've got my eye on another but I won't be home when it ends so I'll do like I've done in the past. Bid what it is worth to me and walk away from the computer till it's over. |

Location: South of most, North of few | Thanks Mike, hope it's as nice as they say when it gets here. I emailed them to make sure they know how to ship a guitar, (like put it in a box) Actually, I just bought it to get the purple lined case. :D |

| An original, and an early one at that, in what looks to be "most excellent" condition.
for less than 1/2 of what you can get one of the Reissues for...
congratulations Jim! Guess my prompting in the jukebox thread worked... tho you don't need any encouragement from any of us anymore it seems.
Coming soon! to the Other side of the board.....
For Sale! 1968 GC 12 string..... $800 dollars..
I give it about a month after receipt down here in FL. This is one you should probably hold on to Jim,.... but then, so have a LOT of the others...
I would like to A-B it with you against my 1115, and actually get to meet you finally, If you can keep it long enough for Char and I to drive down. :D
congratulations on another fine squeeze on the trigger.

Glenn Better leave now. :D SEE!!!! Even He recognizes that he's a very SICK individual!!!
He gets some pretty nice guitars tho... I think he doesn't know how to change strings or the job just confuses him too much!!! wait till you change them on this one! but then you generally don't hold long on to them long enough to complete that chore!

Location: South of most, North of few | Naw, I've changed strings on a lot of slot head 12's. It really isn't a problem for me, I kind of like it actually. And, yes,...I am a sick individual, but without me, a lot of you other "sick" individuals wouldn't have some of the nice guitars you have, not to mention someone to pick on. :D :p
The earmuffs are strictly to protect my,(and others) appreciation for fine music, which I can't seem to create on a guitar. I'm sure anyone who has heard me play will agree with that statement. I'm a drummer. I only "dabble" in guitar playing. |

Jim, I hope you're just kiddin about that...its a shame to break up a near mint guitar from the original case thats kept it protected for all these years...If the case were needing replacement, well yeah, but this is a set...and a vintage one at that...
just my .02 cents...but this stuff is getting rarer and harder to find all the time... |

Location: South of most, North of few | Mike, you really need to meet me. Of course I'm kidding. I am really looking forward to seeing this one. I'm going to resist moving it on and keep it. 40 years old and in that condition (hopefully), I need to keep this one. |

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | Whew, Jim ya had me somewhat worried...you're right, we do need to get together...This is a keeper if you can...I would have gone for it in a minute but I made a promise to SWMBO...besides, I have two old 12's including the shiny bowl w/purple lined case...show us some pic's when it gets there!
I got the '67 out this am...tuned it up: did a saddle adjustment and retuned...what a great sound...Ovation/Adamas 12's are the top shelf in 12 strings...no doubt! Yours is a beaut! |

Any chance of a cash 'talk down' for one of our OFCers? |
