Location: Upper Left USA | I may be putting the top on the bowl, er.. Deck on the Hull tomorrow.
We'll see about the Epi's though. Most likely just some Mahogany and Spalted Birch along the sides. If I can squeeze in some Abalone that would be nice.
That Cedar Kayak is gorgeous and since it resembles a piece of furniture more than a tool it will probably get looked at more than paddled.
Mine will see rocks, Oyster beds, Barnacles and Grandkids! |

That and a lot of scraping and sanding.

Actually once the Boat is made it will be the Operator that gets "tuned" in.

Location: Montana | I forgot to point out the Ovation content in my boat photo. The black object that you can just barely see to the right of the motor is my Applause Voyager travel guitar. I can report that it takes water and gas splashes nicely.
Geneo, I built the boat from scratch following plans from Iain Oughtred, an Australian/Scottish designer. The hull is tiger-stripe Koa with bear claw spruce epilauts (just kidding).
Woody you are a braver (and neater) man than I to show a picture of your garage. Got any big plans for your boat? One of my dreams was to sail the Inside Passage but after reading every book I could find on the subject I'm not so sure anymore. Those tidal currents y'all have are wicked, not to mention the fog and cruise ships the size of football stadiums traveling at high speeds. |

Location: Upper Left USA | Scott - you did a fine job. That is about norm for my Garage. About once a year I empty it out, sweep and evict the tenants and put things back. My one rule is that there will always be room for Momma's car. From then on though it always has at least one project going.
Geneo - Go to Craigslist and enter "Pygmy", you'll get a lot of Goats and a smattering of kayaks. Or just build one yourself, its not difficult. Shipping from Seattle to East Coast would be slow and costly.

I'm working the decorative parts now so if an Epi shows up don't be surprised. |

But that would be wrong... cool, but still wrong. |
