Location: South of most, North of few | Finally came in after what seemed like an eternity yet was only 3 months, UMGF custom. 00 12 fret slot head, ambertone spruce top, quilted mahogany back and sides. Sounds real sweet for a new one. Hopefully I'll get to spend some time with it and let it blossom. Didn't even clean it up before the pics, so don't mind the dust.

Location: South of most, North of few | Thanks all, I did get to play it a little tonight, and I can say it is VERY punchy and LOUD for such a little body. Definitely not as big a sound as a dred, but very clean and full. I remember everything I loved about my last 00 in this one and I'm sure it's only going to get better with age. I do have to say, this is probably the most beautifully crafted Martin I have owned. I can't find a single flaw. Very happy with this one! |

It's adirondak spruce top, right ?
BTW the label says "UNUM NON SATIS" (latin) that means "ONLY ONE IS NOT ENOUGH". Soo, Jim, you need to get another one of this at the soonest ;) |

Welcome to the middle of the pool.
The deep end is just a few more feet this way! If I were a better, or more dedicated player, that may be true. (it also takes cubic $) As I've said on numerous occasions, I'm not a good guitar player, I just dabble in it. I appreciate good craftsmanship tonal value, and artistic design, but with my somewhat limited guitar funds, I think I'll stay in the kiddie pool. :D |

On the other hand, I keep learning more songs that I wanted to learn years ago, but never could figure out. I prefer to think I'm getting better because of all these guitars I have. Still can't improvise, but my memorizing skills are improving. |

At the risk of sounding stoopid -

UMGF is dyslexic for Ultimate Freaking Martin Guitar
Martin takes a lot of crap because they are so popular and sorta the standard to upon which all are copied. But I gotta say I REALLY think they build some great stuff and their quality is top notch, unlike some others. |

Location: South of most, North of few | Miz, UMGF stands for the "unofficial Martin guitar forum" The guys there designed this one and had a few made as a forum guitar. Most of them are natural tops but some have been ordered in ambertone, not to be confused with amber burst, which is much yellower in the center.
and Dave, I agree. This one was really put together with extra care. |
