Hi Everyone, My latest purchase is this beautiful 1997 Limited Edition Elite 1778-KGC (Koa Guitar Center) see label pic. The seller told me that it was 1 of 30 made exclusively for The Guitar Center Corporation. He went on to say that some of them made it overseas to a market with deep pockets. I originally purchased it as a collector piece but i got to tell ya i find myself playing it everyday. it plays like butter. So my question is simple?

Does anyone have any concrete information on this model? Is it a rare piece?

Thanks ;)

Ditto... Anything ordered for Guitar Center would end-up being more than 30 units.
BUT! Since that label looks like it is hand-lettered, that particular guitar my have been a prototype of some sort.

Outta my general dislike of GC, I would say that maybe that was a prototype for a model that GC was considering adding to it's line-up. Then the production model would be made in Annuthaland.

Kinda like the GC057, or the GC178LX, or the S771GC... Of which there are thousands.

But it is a nice looking guitar.

Very nice-looking guitar. Is that a deep bowl? What kind of pre-amp does it have?

These were discussed several years ago. Seems to me that Beal said they were panelmeisters. I remember playing one in a GC. They had a very good sound regardless of panel or solid.....

That is a beautiful guitar, Geneo. I'm glad you find that it plays and sounds as beautiful as it looks! Congratulations on a great instrument!

I did say that but I think someone pointed out they were solid. I don't remember.
And GC would buy just 30 for a limited run.

Geneo,
When I posted about your new book I
Didnt notice you too have an 81 1111. I keep mine is at my parents house so I dont get to play it as much as I would like. I added some gold tuners and a trust rod cover to dress it up a bit. I really like that koa.
