Ok,,, I HAD a Matrix 12 string and sold it as it was not getting a lot of use. Now I realize how much I miss that sound. Looking for recommendations for a new 12. I now it is subjective, but I'd like to pick some brains ( not too much) I don't want to cause a melt down.

Mix of figerpicking and flat picking, folk style, Denver, Chapin, Croce, Kingston trip and the like....

Let's hear your ideas. Ummmmmmmm no Adamas, just don't have the budget....

Steve

IMO, ya can't do any better (Adamai aside) than a Pace Maker. (Groan... ya'll have heard it before) It's a BOOMER!

Hopefully others will chime in with a less biased 'O'pinion...

I've learned from this forum that any USA made Ovation 12'er is great! My 1758 is sweet!! Ask Kotadawg! ;) :p

My 1751 probably sounds close to what your Matrix sounded like. It was pretty reasonably priced. I don't use a 12 much, so I don't have a need for something higher end, but if I did I would have bought one of those Ute 12s from Al.

The 1758 I got from Karen is a beautiful, rich sounding guitar. Any Ovation 12 is going to sound great though. I have never heard another brand that sounded so good.

Trader Jim might have a 1758 he would be willing to part with.

Well, it probably would't be a bad idea to be the Trader's agent; if a reasonable cut is 10%, you'd really do o.k. ;) :D

I have a Pacemaker, and I really love mine; it's very easy to play, even easier than the Elite that Ali now has. Restrung, it really puts out sound. It's only 12 frets, but that's o.k.; my hands don't have the mojo to barre a 12 up that high, anyway. The neck is in great shape (when it comes to twisting or bowing), but it does need new frets, so if you get an older one, watch out for that.

No room for managers. I do have 2 1758's in white pearl. One with inlaid eppies and the other bone stock, both in pristine condition. Not sure which one I want to keep yet, maybe both. I'll know more when I get back home and get to A B them. I originally had a pacemaker (or 4) and really loved the sound,...till I got a 1758. To me the 1758 sounds fuller, although I do like the slot head look of the 12 fretter.
