Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | I also received the 1718-6p on Monday; the guitar is fine and I will post a full account as soon as I can get some pictures. However, the case was not quite so fortunate: and here is the reason why:
Case broke where the blade from the forklift punctured the box and impacted it...damage claim filed...yeah, right....
I was nervous when the Martin arrived yesterday: fortunately, it was ok...
This is becoming epidemic... |

Location: Seymour, Tennessee | The box the OX came in was crushed too and it was in a gig bag.
I just got lucky is all.
Thank goodness for hard cases.
By the way, I ordered one, waited 22 days for it and of couse, it didn't fit.
Gotta go through the whole, "Return from 7500 miles away" song and dance.
Then go through the whole trying it again thing cause nobody makes cases for it specifically.
I'm just thankful I've got a really nice guitar over here. |

My recent purchase wasn't even packed in a box. I just about fainted when my USPS mail carrier walked off her truck with Case in hand. The seller had wrapped the case in duct tape where the latches are located and taped a shipping label to the case. After getting over the shock, I decided that maybe it worked in my favor afterall because it was obviously a guitar and maybe they were more careful with shipping it from coast to coast than if it had been in an unidentifiable box. Your very unfortuante situation only affirms that for me. |

So your comment about "obviously a guitar" may have some validity. My only issues are tape residue and any possible claims. |

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | Wow, talk about horror stories...glad it worked out....O cases are some tough cases: the 1718 case deflected the blade from the forklift w/only a small crack...but they probably weren't designed with that in mind... |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Hey Depa, I received my (long-gone) Flame T with just a sticker on the case and a tag on the handle.
I couldn't find a photo of that, But I also received a Tak G330 with just bubble-wrap.
I did find a photo of that...
But like you said, At Least they KNOW it is a guitar, so they won't stack stuff on it.
I was thinking that just bubble-wrapping the case might be safer.
But a roll of bubble wrap is prohibitively expensive.
Boxes from the Music shop and pizza boxes for padding are cheaper.! :D |
