Is it easy to change epaulets from the 5 piece to the 8 piece versions. Or should i leave well alone!

Kevin, I wouldn't attempt anything like that.

Use a Sharpie to draw some extra lines.

The only way I have ever seen them removed was by sanding the whole top. Not a venture I would advise for anyone. If you like a different look, I would advise buying the model you really want. On the other hand ... If you really want to change YOUR guitar, send it to the factory and I am sure they can and will do it for you. But plan on paying a lot for it.

If MrN's signature line is complete I believe he is contemplating epaulet augmentation on his U681-12. One of the very rarest of the rare Adamas guitars. You don't just get rid of it and buy one with 8 piece epaulets. Factory could do it, but I think MrN is overseas making an already very expensive cosmetic enhancement all the more cost prohibitive. Indeed I think my Sharpie suggestion is the best route. However I would never screw around with such a rare and valuable guitar as the U681-12.

Good Observation. I'd just sell the Rick and the Guild then and buy another Ovation or Adamas with the epaulets you want.

Thanks for the advice guys and well spotted Gallerinnski! Why oh why did they not put the nicer epaulets on the UTE? They look great on Trader Jim's 1681!
I will leave well alone...

Hey Vince, the Guild is awesome plugged in, a great looking guitar, and the size of Bluesbird, so could never sell it. As for the Ricky, well, i've always wanted one and managed to get one a few years ago, so, nope, no deal at the mo. Gotta keep 'em both.
But will buy a new Adamas anyway...

Just run the guitar through a planer. That should get rid of the old ones.
