Well, I had an opportunity to caress and play it this last January at NAMM. High gloss, beautiful Koa and inlaids, nice projection and "voice" although pretty tough to hear much at NAMM in a convention hall. The Studio pre-amp with XLR is an excellent combination.

Best reinforcement of my opinion...I just bought two.

This is, most likely, the last Collectors of the series.

Pictures don't do the 09C justice - the guitar is awesome looking.

Soundwise, it projects well with the contour bowl and has a great tone.

I only bought one, though.

Check the other discussions on this board we've been having on them also. I was able to get one through Al, and it surpassed my already stellar expectations. It definitely is not only one of the best looking guitars ever, but it plays as smooth as butter and the tonal range is wide and pure. It has everything I want in a guitar ... great looks, a professional setup with low action, clarity, contour bowl for comfort, and superior electronics for when I need to plug in. I have yet to hear anyone say they were dissappointed with one of these. As the 47 Reissue is the hallmark Adamas, and the 1537 is the best made and coveted Elite model, I believe the 09 Collectors will prove to be the best version of the Custom Legend ever made.(I should be selling these myself) This is one I don't plan on ever parting with.

Welcome Wally. Another Brisbanite. What is it about Brisbane and Ovations? What part of Brisbane are you in?

AJ - time for a jam before I'm no longer in Brisbane.

Hey thanks guys for the reply, especially my Aussie mates...I have a few geets now and just love the 09 Collector..bit hard to get them down under..but would love to add to my collection..have a few electrics :2006US Strat, 2007 Les Paul, 2008Cole Clark Culprit (Aussie Tele), and two acoustics :2004 Maton EM325c, and my old favourite a 1987 Ovation 1512 Ultra ,so is it any wonder I want to buy another Ovation..the A$ is good now but the freight is the killer...but it's only money ...Wally

Hey ... one option is to fly to the states on a vacation and buy one, then take it back with you. If that isn't practical, find someone else who is, and have them bring one back for ya'

Ladies and Gentlemen (all others, cease and desist)...other than 001 that Al is selling, just got in the last two he had.

They are gorgeous, far better than what I remembered from last January NAMM. Both tops are different but some of the finest Koa I have seen, to include a $40,000 Martin they had at NAMM.

I will try and get time to take pictures of both.

Playability, as fine as the 2004 Custom Legend (and, some of you know how I feel about that instrument).

Maybe we could get the others that have the 2009C to post pictures (or maybe Dave could have a section on OvationGallery). If these two have such variation, have to believe the others do.

Previously posted that pictures don't do justice. My wife believes they are prettier than the others I have. She says "with the movement in the grain, they come alive."

AL, I NEED PICTURES OF 001, AS SHE SAYS I NEED TO GET THAT ONE ALSO.

Tony, I just mailed you a big check to help you pay for either the first two or that 3rd one calling your name (001)

Stephen, all is gratefully accepted :D

Stephen and I have sold or traded guitars over the past years with both parties well satisfied.

Always nice to work with a friend...be nice to actually meet him as he is coming to the January NAMM.
