Of all of the O's and A's I've had the pleasure of owning, I have found the crown jewel of my collection. As those who know me are aware, I consider the textured American Elite 1778T to be the ultimate Ovation guitar in terms of its tone. In fact at the time of this posting I own only my four 1778T's, having traded the rest of my collection away to be able to write this post.

Thanks to the OFC, I discovered that there was a limited run of 2078T's made with an inlaid koa epaulet for the Sweetwater music store. Depending on who you ask, there were only 10 or 14 of these made. The only problem (for me) is that the Sweetwater T, or "Sweet T", is a 2078T, which means it is not a midbowl like the 1778T, but a deep contour bowl. This is great for those who prefer the contour bowl. I myself happen to find it very comfortable sitting, but very uncomfortable standing.

After praying to the guitar gods, taking out a second, third, and fourth mortgage, donating half of my organs, sacrificing my two children (they don't know it yet), and promising never to buy another guitar again (while crossing my fingers behind my back), the only Sweet 1778T in existence has come into my possession.

I have never been more stoked about a guitar in my life, and I thank the OFC for making the stars line up just right to make this happen. You know who you are!

Awww... Oh Man! Now what's the Little Doggie ("Fender") gonna do?

There are still a few more out there... in the event that you are trying to buy them All! :p

LOL! Ah yes, the picture that started it all! Arthur, believe me if there were other midbowl Sweet T's out there, I probably would have tried to buy them all!

But as it stands, of the 10 or 14 Sweet T's made, only the guitar in the picture had the midbowl. (I guess since Fender bought Ovation, I should specify that I acquired the "Fender" on the right, not the "Fender" on the left ;) ) LOL

Very nice indeed! I really like the look of the wood against the black textured top. Enjoy!

Its really great to find your perfect guitar. For some, it hasn't been made, which means it has to be a custom order to your specs. Thankfully, we have a very accommodating factory.
