Location: Sydney, Australia | OK, SWMBO is going away on 29 October so the weekend of the 31st is clear for a Brisbane Jam at my place. All we need is attendees.
Who's up? Muzz there is a spare bed for you. Also a blow up mattress if someone else is interested in a drive (Steve I'm looking in your direction). Chris, what's a little more debt on the credit card. Anyone from the US who wants to fly out on a whim with my 1680 can have my bed for the weekend (I'll sleep on the floor). |

I took my kids away for a couple of days this week during the school holidays. Donna couldn't get any time off so it was just me and the kids. Coming home yesterday and my car dies in Coffs Harbour (2 hours north of here). End result......Donna had to drive up and pick us up, my car is in Coffs Harbour indefinitely and they have given me a tentative estimate of $8000!!!!!!! for repairs. We're weighing up our options at the moment but it doesn't look like I'll be making any long trips for quite a while. DON'T...repeat...DON'T ever buy a Kia Carnival.
Wonder how many guitars I could buy for $8000.
Have a great time anyway...I hope the rest of the Aussie contingent can get there. |

That really sucks. $8,000 worth of guitars would last a lot longer than the Kia.
If you have need of someone in Coffs to act as an intermediary etc., My sister in law and her family live there and would be happy to help out. |

Location: New South Wales, Australia | Looks like we're heading up there on Saturday to get our things out of the car and then possibly cut our losses and walk away. I paid 13 for it in January this year, 2nd hand, so only three month warranty. I've since read on the net that there's been a lot of problems with these vehicles. I use it as a work vehicle through the week and a family all rounder on the weekends. So, not only do I not have a car at the moment, but I'm having to borrow vans from friends so I can keep working because the post still has to get through :) |

Location: Sydney, Australia | Well a small but enthusiastic group of Aussie Ovation fans got together again (finally). We all learned something new. Muzz and I each taught each other something about Garageband and AJ taught us both that our Ovations (well the good ones) are Strap lock ready, so we have no reason for having guitars fall onto the floor anymore, apart from walking around the room with the cord still attached.
AJ learned that Macs are much better than PCs and that he can't use Garageband on his computer :(
Muzz as usual was good at getting others involved, but he demonstrated an ability to get even the least talented attendee involved in a jam: Muzz leading a jam |

I still think they're the ugliest things to ever come out of Connecticut. |
