Ovation gets a bit of a mention.

My Melissa Ethridge 1598 plays like butter, and it is one of the most beautiful guitars I own. It changes from dark garnet red to sort of a metallic ruby red, and sometimes, as you can see in the photo, looks almost black.

Willa: I have one of those! I DO love it. Gorgeous sounding, and gorgeous looking...and FEELS solid as a rock! I think you're trying to duplicate my collection! I have a 1681-5 too -- just like you!

I have a 1598-MEII, which has a single bass-side epi and "natural graphite burst." Other than the color and the missing epi, I don't know the differences between it and the MERB, (does anyone here?) Regardless, it's a very sweet 12-string.

Back to the topic; it is an interesting interview, definitely worth a listen, despite the somewhat-contrived portion that endorses Elixers… ;)

Thanks for posting!

Not an endorsment, but I use the Elixr Nanoweb strings on my 1598 MERB also, but I have to buy mine.

BTW, Mike, thank you for posting that link. I was an interesting interview and fun to see all those guitars on her wall, too!
