Uh? So did Soupy play geeetar? I only remember seeing him on things like Hollywood Squares, Roasts, and other shows where 'stars' stroke each other.
But my Great-Aunt Alma thought he was funny! |

Location: Texas | White Fang, Black Tooth, Pookie… that was really a very weird show for impressionable young minds.
Those old shows had a resurgence of new fans every few years on college campuses for quite a while too. (insert punch line here)
And it is not totally off-topic, since his sons were musicians who played with lots of well-known acts, including Todd Rundgren on the "Runt" LPs…
RIP Soupy… |

"Hang on Soupy, Soupy hang on..."
He blazed a lot of early media trails. Taught some people how to get out of an over binding contract! |

| The very first time I was in a "real" recording studio to cut a demo with a band, Soupy Sales had just been there to record a promo for his show.
"Wow," I remember thinking, "now THIS is the big time!" |

I found some of his antics hilarious and some not so much. |
