Wow, that's a strange response.
When I have been searching for a specific ovation, this is the first place I make an inquiry.
Members have referred me to sources I had no previous knowledge of and other members that may be able to provide leads.
Without asking for help here, I certainly would not have a number of the ovations I currently own. |

| In Moody's defense, the phrasing of the request is a little odd. Instead of asking who "would be the go to guy who would be able to find me a late 70`s early 80`s Ovation 1619-4 or 1619-1" it might've made more sense on a quick read if the OP had said "I'm looking for a late 70`s early 80`s Ovation 1619 if anyone has one for sale, or if you come across one please let me know." |

Location: California | I have asked this forum (option a) on several occasions about if anyone has for sale an Adamas 1587 blk cutaway and I did get answers "rare to find them". However, also did my own research (option b)about who may have a guitar like this in this forum and so was lucky that an OFC member was ready to sell one at a perfect time. Can't wait to receive mine, will arrive ~ 11/04. Thanks bvince for communicating well on this transaction. Will let you know when I get the guitar, combination (a+b). hector |

And I am not the go to guy here in spite of the next comment that may show up. ;) |

Bingo. It wasn't smartass at all. At least not much. It was just an interesting phrasing. I would have overlooked it had it come from overseas. But it came from New York.
It was just interesting and I thought I'd challenge it.
Why am I bothering explaining it to you guys? |

Location: on the web | Well, I had no idea such a fine service was offered here! Since Trader Jim has declined, I hereby appoint gulfcoast as my go-to guy in my quest for a 1538 in natural. I'll expect daily summaries including which sites and localities you've searched, and a full report on the condition of any you find. When you come across one to my liking I fully expect you will negotiate the best price. Thank you so much! |

Location: Michigan | You just missed one on ebay that went for $450 which if my memory serves me (and if often does not) is low. A few months back there were 2 or 3 that all went for a grand or so for some odd reason.
There is a black (-5?) at Music go round but I think it has as crack in the top if I remember correctly:
