| I received a phone call from JB at the factory today regarding the 66 Balladeer. He states that the HS break would NOT be covered under warranty, but the repair and installation of the Klusons would probably be around $200 dollars for whomever purchases the guitar the next time it is listed.
I then called Walter Carney and informed him of what I had found out, and to make him aware of his options. At which point Walter informed me that 4 or 5 of the bidders, and others inquiring on/about the guitar did identify themselves as members of the OFC... and he did say all but ONE were more than courteous, kind, and understanding.
unfortunately, this one member was rude, demanding, even going to the point of inferring collusion and/or Back-room or behind the scenes dealings.
Walter had nothing but good things to say about all of the others that are members here who were asking about his mother's guitar... but regarding the other member, and I quote.... "What a jerk he was".
The guitar will be re-listed after the holidays, probably in Jan according to Walter and Viola, and they will be listing the guitar and original OHSC along with the guitar's original receipt and documentation and a couple of picks from '66....
The documents, brochures, photographs, autographs, and other ephemera that Viola has from her employment at Ovation and Kaman Helicopter will be put up for auction at the same time and they will be cross-linking the auctions.
Regards,
Glenn |

Well, yeah ... there was that. Maybe Walter did not know it was happening, but nonetheless it was. We can all read the previous threads and see that.
Kind and polite are overrated. For me, honesty trumps them every time. |

An abusive OFC member? Look at the questions on the ebay listing, and the threads here and see if we can guess who it might be...... |
