This should probably go into my profile but I thought you might all be interested in knowing this.

I write software. (CNC/DNC) A few years ago I found out that my software is used in the ovation factory - Last conversation I had with them was that it was used in the CNC machining of solid bodied guitars.

I'm in the UK, never been to the states. I know my software is just a tiny cog in a very big wheel but it kinda feels good knowing that I've kind of 'touched' many OFC members' solid bodied guitars.

I'd also be interested to know if they still use it. Maybe one of the mods visiting the factory could PM me and I'd tell them enough so they could try and sneak a peek and see if it's still running - that'd be cool.

Some of us do well to write our names in the snow. Good going.

Thanks - that's a modern-ish machine made by "Damon Automation". That has 'their' control software built so that wouldn't need my software.

My software would be used on an Older machine basically allowing an older machine to function just like that modern machine - if that makes sense.

Just looked back at some emails from 2007 - They have a factory in Winsted CT ?

Hey - I could do that in software - first you'd need to use a CAD package to create a 3D model of your name and then we'd strap your 'Johnson' to a CNC router and . . . . .

That's a bit graphic, eh wot? Might come up a bit short on the router jig, though.

When was the last time a solid body was machined at the "O" factory?

This morning...

The Hamer Crew is primary but they cut the VXT's and the Vipers as well.

So Ian is the "Solidbody Whisperer"?
