Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Since I haven't seen an EA Viper that I could afford, I overpaid (probably) for a Celebrity Viper...
Just you basic Black with fingerprints. It does have one or two dents in the top.
     
My question is... I believe that there is a packet of Silica Gel inside the body of this thing.
I can hear it when I flip the guitar around. I cannot see it through the sound holes, and it ain't in the battery compartment or where the truss-rod is.
There isn't anything that could make that sound that is Supposed to be in there, is there?
And can any one think of how to get that out? |

What is that " plate " at the back , batt. cover ?
Or ye could take the pre-amp out and try t` jiggle it out thru´ that opening ..
.. do not resort to the crowbar method , it might scratch the finish.

Location: Hot Springs, S.D. | Well, the old timers used to put rattlesnake rattles in their violins. They claimed it kept spiders away. Maybe silica gel is supposed to keep, um...TRADER JIM away! :D
What I would do is try to shake the packet toward the front where you can at least see it through the soundholes, and then either a quick flip, or maybe some long handled tweezers.
Nice looking guitar by the way. Congrats, and PLAY that thang! |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | That silica pack may have been in the case at one point and it just worked its way into the chamber. I'd be curious how the overseas vipers compare with the USA models in sound based on a difference in preamps, and the string-through body of the USA model vs. the non-string through overseas model. |

I had never played one of these kinda Vipers before, but I figured that I could sell it if I didn't like it.
I Like It.
This is kinda like the ultimate SSB. It cannot be played without an amp. Well, it can... But nobody would here you outside of a quiet bedroom.
I still have to take it apart... change the strings and oil the neck, and clean that solidified layer of dust in the bridge joint under the strings :p and generally shine-up the top.
But this is a nifty little toy. Nice and small and quiet unplugged for practicing, but you can still Hear it. It is Really comfortable to play and I think that it might be good to take outside also, since you gotta use an amp anyway. |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | OMA, as the marketing spoo says, think of it as the electric player's acoustic guitar. It has an acoustic-style pickup, and a chambered body, so it sounds more acoustic than a magnetic-pupped electric, but in all other respects feels just like an electric. It has more bite than a standard pure acoustic/electric to my ears, and feels heavier like an solid body electric, although I've never weighed it against, say, an SSB, so I don't know this for a fact. It may be that it is simply more dense. I find the sound unique and have been playing several regularly for the past three years. And as Vic says, cool strap. I use one that looks very similar on my Vipers, too. |

Oh, as to the strap... I hunted that down.
Just your basic hippie pot circle strap! :cool:
It's hard to find a good 'tapestry' strap nowadays. |
