I have taken the jack socket out of my C/Balladeer because it was making a loud cracking sound when the plug was moved. The middle wire [the other 2 are red and black] has come adrift and I,m not sure how to reattach [solder]it back together, there seems to be a silver shield in the centre as well.any advice will be greatly received .tia .

On the Plug there are Three soldering lips ,

BLACK wire to Lowest lip ( Closest to the back of the Git.)

YELLOW to Middle lip

RED to Highest lip

That " shield " is a contact that connects the YELLOW and RED wire ...

Vic

If ya want an explanation , just holler ..
