I recently purchased some used cases for the Acou/Elecs and traded my SG for a VXT. Well, I don't have any keys to lock the cases up and will be travelling soon.

Will any standard key fit or do I need to contact Ovation? I own 3 Ovations and just recently started to play them (been a Gibson guy most of my life)

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can lend.

On a side note.. I've seen some beautiful pics you guys are posting.

don't bother locking them, if somebody wants it they'll just take the whole thing anyway.
If you want extra security run gaffers tape over the locks, or all around the case over the lock.
Airlines are going to look in there anyway so they'll just break the lock.

From a former Law Enforcement Officer's standpoint, locks keep honest people honest and thieves don't give a damn, barely even slows ;em down.
If they want in they get in.
When I ship my 68 DB to the MS when I get back from this sand pit, I'm just gonna put a few big bungee cords around the outside of the case just on the off chance the latches were to come loose.
Shoot, it would slow somebody down more to cut those off than to pop that welfare lock anyway :)

The only reason I see for having locks on cases is to keep visitor's children from sneaking into the music room and getting at your guitars. For THAT, they are wonderful.

Since I've lost the keys to my locks on most of my guitar cases, I use those TSA luggage straps. It's not really for theft security, but for spillage security on airplanes, in vans etc. Also, if you get a brightly colored strap it'll be easier to spot in a pile of music gear. (and to keep the kids out.)

You can get the straps for like $10.00 on the internet. You set your own combo.

Good luck
