Location: chicago | who would think??Its a little pricey, it sets behind close and locked doors in the gc platinum room,while its not the axe i would choose for what i play,check it out and see if this thang doesnt beg to have songs written on it.$6,000 a small price to pay for induced creativity.Jeff |

Location: Phoenix AZ | Saw these are NAMM last year and they looked extremely well made. Wether or not they are your cup of tea is personal preference but the quality, at least what I saw, was every bit becoming of a $6k guitar. |

Great sound and the quality was excellent. Next time I go to Willcutt's I'll ask them to bring out a Collings so I can A/B them. |

Location: Tennessee | I saw a mini-documentary on TV a few months back which was highlighting how companies were weathering the recession and changing thier business model to adapt to the times ... they interviewed PRS himself and filmed a tour through his shop in Maryland, emphasizing the acoustic guitar building. PRS basically said that they had a lot of excess capacity, excellent luthiers, and access to high quality wood so off they went. The message was that they were doing what they had to to keep the business alive and the doors open. If you buy one of these you can add a saved job to that White House site. |

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | I saw the same documentary...the part that got my attention was when PRS announced that 25% of the factory workforce had been laid off; when asked if they would be rehired, the answer was negative; probably not...
These are nice guitars I'm sure: I love their electrics and I am sure that the workmanship is just as nice...but I dunno...I'd have to play one first.
On the other hand, Collings has started building electrics...so has Taylor...and Breedlove...etc.
Everybody is searching for that slice of the pie... |
