Wanted everyone to know that although I did buy an 1869 Ovation Custom Legend, I'm still looking for a nice Adamas or Elite/EliteLX. So if anyone knows a guy who knows a guy... :)

Also, a bit off topic, I'm thinking about moving out to Colorado and I'm wondering if anyone lives out there and can tell me generally a little bit about it - I've lived in New Hampshire all my life (I'm 23, almost 24).

There are a few of us in Colorado, and I'm sure they join me when I say that there is a lot to tell. You might PM me and we can proceed off-line.

Colorado is looks about the same as New Hamster, 'cept the mountains are higher, and the desert.
And them California immigrants cannot drive in the snow.

BTW - All the folks out west will tell you it sux where they live!
We're trying to keep the tourists away...
Especially them damn Californians! They ruin everything they touch!

Well, the Texans can't exactly drive in the snow either. It's just not something they're used to.

Come see us Chris. We'd love to have you.

It's Southeast of Idaho, the mountains are bigger and the people are much more civilized.

Boulder. That's all you need to know. One of the best places on the planet. Boulder.

Only our politicians!

But fine, then. No more wine, weed or bronzed silicon beauties for you! We'll keep it all ourselves.

You can keep the politicians....we have enough of those worthless SOB's already.

The others you can go ahead and send over.
I got plenty of room in the basement for all of them!

Sorry, Bob. They already make pretty good wine and grow pretty good weed here. And we have silicon beauties, though they're a little on the pale side.

And we have our own corrupt politicians, as well...

"Texans" better get used to it, snow's predicted as far south as Houston this weekend…

"THE Texans" is supposed to be a football team, but that may be a snow job…

Haha you guys are great. Right now I'm in the 'thinking about it' stage...when it gets to a more serious actual moving phase I may be asking for some contact information

My main reason for moving out there is snowboarding. Can anyone tell me if it's everything I dream it to be? Perfect conditions all the time on the mountain, laid back atmosphere, friendly, etc.

I wouldn't say I'm a stoner but I would say that having good weed is always a plus ;)

Bobbo had it right then, Boulder is probably right up your alley.

Don't we have an OFCer in Boulder (or at least used to)?

Many Coloradoans believe Boulder is another planet.

There is a lot of sun in Colorado, the snow is more likely to evaporate than melt, and you can ride motorcycles year-round. There are also very distinct regions in Colorado, and for the most part, getting from one place to another is much easier than in New Hampshire. Do you have a specific locale and profession in mind? The economy out here is not a whole lot better than the rest of the country at the present time, but it is better than many areas. Colorado residents are generally in better physical shape than other parts of the country, due primarily to our recreational venues. Some of our towns continue to be ranked high in the list of best places to live in the States.

I'd love nothing more than to be in the snowboarding industry. Snowboarding is my life - it is KILLING me that we have ZERO snow here (IN DECEMBER! WHAT. THE. HELL!)

I'm not intimidated by the economy or the job market - I'm a firm believer in determination and discipline getting you what you want. :)

At your age, you should probably work one of the ski areas for a season or two and start networking. I don't know when they do their hiring, presumably during the summer, but all the young folks working the lifts and other ski area support positions wear name tags that show where they're from, and they come from all over. Many countries are represented. Even if the natural snow is light up on the hills, it is cold enough to make snow and the canons work around the clock.

Ah... to be 23 again.

Definitely head up into the mountains and work for a resort. Copper, Vail, Beaver Creek... just pick one and go for it. You'll have the time of your life.

9th, I've got a really nice 6778LX in Vintage Natural finish needing a good home. The setup on this guitar is the best I've ever played. I've measured it every which way, and then tried to duplicate it on my '07 Collectors and my Adamas 2080. But there's something about this particular guitar that makes it play better!

It's your typical Elite LX with mid bowl and OpPro preamp. The neck is slightly V shaped. Rosewood fingerboard and bridge. No damage.

Shipped/insured for $599.

Hey guys I want to say thank you to everyone who PM'd me about offering to show me around and for me to call them about visiting Colorado. I'm a very family-oriented kinda guy and it makes me happy to see so many people offering to talk to me, show me around, etc - to someone you've never met!

I'm wondering if anyone knows if there's a place in Colorado that's considered the "best" riding?

Also, I'm trying to find either an Elite/EliteLX or Adamas still for somewhere between 600-800$. If anyone knows anything...I'm always lurking :)

Thanks again everyone...especially those who PM'd me. I'm still figuring out when I may be able to make a trip out there - I will keep you all in mind. As always, money is an issue ;)

The "best" riding, as on a snowboard? They're all good. The destination areas (those furthest in proximity to Denver) are less crowded and more touristy, and also typically more expensive. I prefer Crested Butte and Steamboat over Aspen, which is cost-prohibitive unless you know people there. Of the local slopes, I prefer Winter Park and Mary Jane over the others. The advantage at Copper is that the beginner, intermediate and advanced slopes are laid out in a way that keeps the skill levels separated, so if you like to ski fast or hot dog it on the advanced slopes, you don't run the risk of running over slower, lesser skilled people. Vail is huge, and also more expensive, but their village is great for the apres-ski. Generally, I've found that skiers from New England are exceptional skiers compared to the locals because they learned to ski on ice, rocks and corn snow, so when you get on the light powder in Colorado, you think you're in heaven. We're spoiled rotten.

Yeah I hear the riding from NH to Colorado is akin to finding the promised land...I can't wait for that.
