I saw one for the first time yesterday. I did not know they existed. Sounded great and looked really cool. Seems even the woodies love em. Just another expample of how far ahead of his time Mr. Kaman was.

Went to a musical Friday evening and heard some typical funky bass slappin', only it wasn't coming rom the bass. It was a cellist! I'd never heard a cello played like that before, and the guy was using a bow to do it. Great stuff.

On the Discovery Channel the show "How It's Made" had an episode where a carbon fiber cello was constructed.

There was a company that made cellos and basses. They were in Europe, Germany I think, and it was 15-20 years ago. They were quite expensive as well as good
