We've got close to a foot of snow on the ground (9" of that came on Sunday) and -9*F right now. But the heavy stuff is all east of us.

Stay safe and warm!

We're just waiting for it. 11°F right now, unusual for this early in December. We normally don't get this cold till after Christmas. With precip coming our way Friday, it could be an interesting weekend.

No snow in the forecast here. It may hit 80° today with 78% humidity. There is a nice breeze blowing the palm trees around.
Lets see what to do today....After I go to my guitar lesson I may take the arboat for a spin or grab the longboard and cruise by the beach to check out the waves. Even If there are no waves I can get some lunch and eye candy

We were only brushed by the system. We got about five inches or so, but it went to 15 below last night. It's about 5 below right now with a windchill of about 20 below. Our normal winters include an occasional cold snap, but they usually only happen once or twice a year and only last two or three days. This one has been going on for two weeks now! But the worst part is the condition of the roads. They haven't plowed yet and they don't plan to.

I spent the first 35 years of my life in shit weather. Thanks but no thanks.

I do have a great respect for the snow covered regions of this country because if it wasn't for you folks they'd have no place to take the photos for those christmas cards. Keep up the good work.

Clear and Cold here... But we are further North than Chicago, New York or Boston...

So it ain't that bad, I guess.
But I don't think that I will be playing on the street today.

I think the nicest weather I ever experienced was when I lived in San Diego. Of course it's too crowded for my taste anymore. In winter we suffer from the cold here, but in summer when all you southerners are suffering from the 90% humidity, I think the trade-off is worth it. As a smoker, I have cut way down the past couple of weeks. Outside for a few quick puffs, then back into the warmth of the shop. Just one more reason to rejoice in the cold.

See, if you try hard enough you can talk yourself into anything! :D

Well if anyone wants to hop on a plane, the weather is hot and sunny here. If I didn't have to work/study, I'd be at the beach.

BTW, if you do hop on a plane for a visit, there's something I'd like you to carry.

First below zero temps we've had in 10 years. One thing I like about it is getting up and building a fire in the fireplace and then sit and read the paper while I drink my coffee and watch CBS Sunday Morning. So Sunday I'm in the process and trip trying to avoid the dog and cat at my feet and fall into the armload of wood I was carrying.
I'm tired of having people ask what golf club my wife used on my face.

It was 16 below in Denver Tuesday night. Today's forecast is mid-40's. In Colorado, that means just a flannel shirt. Good to have things back to normal.

Skied Cannon Mt up in Northern NH back in the early 80's. 35 below with wind chills of 80 below.....Seriously!
The early 80's must have been the time of 'young and stupid'. I spent a week in the early 80's outdoor winter camping in the Boundary Waters of Northern Minnesota. Two pads between us and the ground with only a tarp overhead. One night the windchill reached 30 below. During the day wasn't too bad though, with proper clothing you acclimate to the temps. And the ice climbing was fun! But once was enough for me.
