Don't know why I never really noticed before, but the nut and saddle on my '83 Balladeer are angled or radiused from the 6th to the 1st string, but aren't on my '78. ('83 has solid neck, '75 has 5 piece) It looks to me like this affords a more uniform height based on string size. I have not actually removed the saddle, so I can't say how much adjustment or material removal (if any) there is factored in, but none of my other O's have this feature, and no others that I have been able to look at have. Any ideas?

Are you talking about the fretboard radius?

Thanks for the follow up. If you are hinting that the neck, nut and saddle radius should be the same so the guitar will play without problems, then I guess I am. Upon closer inspection, the '83 appears to have considerably more radius than the '78, to the point of making the '78 look nearly flat. Any idea what the actual radii are? Regardless, both guitars play great.
