Anyone out there tried one of these, and if so, what's the verdict?
A big black hole

Here is a side-by-side demonstration Not In English...

But you can get the drift. Plus an installation video over on the side.

Looks like an electric pump for breast milk.

NOT that there's anything wrong with that ...

I'm a sucker for this kind of crap.

Gonna measure a couple sound holes and order one.

So what does it do - improve your gas mileage to like 100 miles per gallon or just relieve you of $30 plus shipping and whatever.

Most likely relieves you of $30 plus shipping but I have pissed away larger amounts of money and had nothing to show for it.

At least with this I will have at worse case a really cool plastic dog cone.

"Looks like an electric pump for breast milk."

That would be an Expressing Pump David.
This is more like an Expression Pedal...

Anyone considering this might experiment with some stiff paper and some tape first.

I can also see some applications for a cut-off Captain Morgan's bottle.

And it might just work as it is. Where's Mr. Templeman on this?

BTW- what was the final consensus on the Tone-Rite. Make a big difference or what?

The tone-rite for me made a big difference.

I think the general consensus of the over 100 guitars that were tested on the Collings forum is that guitars less than 10 years old showed big improvements. Over 10 years old and the improvements were less (probably due to the extended play in time) but still noticeable.

Also Adirondack and other hard tops tended to reap the largest rewards while the softer tops (cedar) didn't show as much improvement.

I did all my initial testing on the high setting. Now I am revisiting all of them on the low setting and letting each one "cook" for about a month before I take it off.

So far I have only done this additional 1 month on the low setting on the Collings CJ but the additional improvement (IMHO) was stunning. YMMV
