| Just wanted to pass this on.Worked for me big time.I never really understood the whole concept of scales and moving up the neck playing single notes.I knew a few pretty good licks here and there but never took the time to figure out why there were played there.I'll bet most players have picked up the "1000 guitar scales" book, tried to memorize them, failed for whatever reason, and felt stupid.Welcome to the club.Buy a cheap book called Fretboard Logic and read it before picking up the guitar, about 40 pages.Cut one of the pages out that show the scales to each chord.Tape it to the wall or were ever you play your guitar so you can always see it.Learn the "CAGED" system.I now look at the neck and see the logic.Kinda like those 3D pics where you suddenly see the picture in the picture.Cant say enough about this book. |

I was going to type "Now the 20 minute wait for the 1-2 minute download" but there it is. Wow! |

There is a Fretboard Logic SE which is a combination of Volume I (Fretboard Logic) and Volume II (Fb logic II)
From Rigger's post I assume he is talking about volume I so if you can't find that one look for the SE version |

It really gave me a new perspective and all of a sudden things(riffs, bridges, scales) that I "just did cause they sounded good" now made sense as to why they sounded good, and why they did or didn't work with certain chords and keys.
It's one of those books that would be hard to not learn at least something from just a quick pass. |

Bring it along when you come down. I'd like to look at it and see if I could use one also. |
