Location: Back in the Valley of the Sun Mesa Az. | I have a CS255 w/OP24+ and with board action resembling the San Francisco Bridge (needs a neck reset that I cannot afford right now)....anyway, my Elite has the OP24 preamp...what would it take to transfer the OP24+ out of the CS255 into the Elite? I really like the shape feature the OP-24+ has.
Just an idea, but I don't want to do anything that could potentially hurt my Elite either.

Location: Upper Left USA | The front cover on the OP24+ has to be removed to access the screws underneath. Sometimes they come off easily, sometimes not.
The rest is just done by taking out the screws and swapping units.
I have some of the replacement face plates for some of the OP's. Post a picture please! |

Location: Back in the Valley of the Sun Mesa Az. | Mike, it is impossible for me to post pics right now...the CS255 is with me in Mesa, the Elite is with my wife in Minnesota (long story) along w/my camera.
It sounds as though I may need to cut into the bowl...well that shuts down the idea for me...w/o having both pre-amps to look at together, I didn't realize they were different shape/size holes. I'll hold off for now as I won't have both guitars together until June anyway.
Thank you all for responding...if I do decide to try this, I will definitely seek more skilled hands to help rather than relying on my own.

Location: Michigan | No cutting, but you may have to file the opening a to make it a bit larger. My OP24+C was a bit longer than the op24 but get a small mill bastard file and take your time. It should swap out with the exception of the screw holes. I think, if I remember, the op24 screwed directly into the mounting bracket built into the guitar so I had to drill those holes out to clear for the +C screws to go through and attache the 2 parts. One on either side of the mounting bracket.
Sound right Woody? I just did mine a month or so ago and should have taken photos and written down what I did. I replaced the OP24 with a the OP24+C for the tuner but I am happier with the shape button. It changes the whole sound of the guitar plugged in. |

Location: Back in the Valley of the Sun Mesa Az. | thanks guys...I will look at doing this later this summer...sounds like it won't be as invasive as I thought (no cutting!).
That shape button is awesome and would be worth the trouble!!! |
