When I got this Viper it had four correct tuners, and two odd ones. Plus some of the tuners had broken 'ears' and were pretty useless.
I installed a set of Wilkinson tuners... But they were not great. They probably have 8-1 turning ratio. So I got some Grover Rotomatics which are much nicer tuners.
But I did not want to put any extra holes into the headstock, so I put them in a little cockeyed.

I could not find any photos of the original tuners in the headstock...
But here are the Wilkinsons...

Notice that the original holes are still there.
Here are the Grovers...

Yeah, they look alittle crooked from the back but they are still easy to use. But don't try to put a 'winder' on there. But the Grovers are much better tuners. And the holes are still there if I ever track down some of the originals.
They look okay from the front.

After I did all the work on my bed, I realized that I do have a table in my new place!

As long as you can tune it without much problem, I think it looks fine.
